This is your reminder for the AUGUST 'Skeptics in the Pub' meeting:

 DATE - Wednesday, August 23rd
 TIME  - 19:30
 PLACE- Upstairs in the Florence Nightingale pub
 199 Westminster Bridge Road,
 London, SE1,
 Junction with York Road, on the roundabout, near Waterloo station.

 The speaker for August is Lionel Fanthorpe. Lionel is a professional TV and
 Radio broadcaster, actor and raconteur, researcher, author, lecturer and
 poet. He is also President of ASSAP (The Association for the Scientific
 Study of Anomalous Phenomena) and President of Bufora (British UFO Research
 Association).  Lionel's talk is entitled 'What Makes an Unsolved Mystery'
 and is sure to give skeptics a stimulating perspective on the nature of some
 things that may be 'out there' along with the truth.

 As with a few of the previous meetings, we will be sharing this meeting with
 a Science Fiction group, this time the British Science Fiction Association.
 And as Lionel is also a well known Science Fiction author, the meeting is
 likely to prove popular on both fronts.

 A welcome is extended to anyone interested in, or skeptical about,  the
 paranormal, alternative medicine, psychic powers, pseudo-science,
 UFOs, alien abductions, creationism, Fortean phenomena, cult religions,
 water-divining, lost civilisations, etc.

 The talk will be followed by informal discussion in a relaxed and friendly
 pub atmosphere. Real ales and food available. Non-skeptics are welcome and
 you can turn up at any time during the night.
