Dear Friends,
Entertainment Tonight is scheduled to run a story on the CSICOP Council for
Media Integrity (CMI) on Wednesday, January 29 (check your local listings).
[NOTE: moved to Thursday, January 30!]
They have interviewed CMI Co-Chair Steve Allen, and Council member John
Rennie, who is the editor of Scientific American.
Entertainment Tonight has also interviewed Dan Aykroyd, the host of the new
television program, The Psi Factor. The Council awarded Aykroyd its
"Snuffed Candle Award," as a way to recognize him "for encouraging credulity,
presenting pseudoscience as genuine, and contributing to the public's lack of
understanding of the methods of scientific inquiry." This award was presented
at a Council for Media Integrity Press Conference held January 9th in Los
Angeles. Although invited Aykroyd did not attend the press conference.
I guess that Aykroyd will have his chance to get back at us on ET.
Also, Discover magazine has an interview with Steve Allen on the CMI in their
February issue.
