Stephen Asma is Distinguished Scholar of Humanities at Columbia College in Chicago. He is the author of several books including Stuffed Animals and Pickled Heads: The Culture and Evolution of Natural History Museums (Oxford 2003) and The Gods Drink Whiskey: Stumbling toward Enlightenment in the Land of the Tattered Buddha (HarperCollins 2006).
